Allah in the Quran, Chapter 62
01 Jan 2015
ALLAH'S GIFTS TO PEOPLE (MUSLIMS)
001 This really is a parallel to the chapter "REWARDS FROM ALLAH", and our comments to this chapter are the same except that Allah can predestine gifts without having to change his Plan (but then it is theater, not a gift). But there is one addition: No place and no time there is reported a proved case of Allah giving anybody anything - millions or billions of claims, but not one proved case. Also Muslims without exception have had to make or buy or steal/rob anything they now own. But Muhammad gave the credit for the work or stealing to Allah. Easy for Allah. Easy for Muhammad.
####### Another - and serious - point is that to "explain" that the Quran means something different from what it really says, is to corrupt it.
Also: What is sure, is that no god ever made a holy book as full of wrong facts, other errors, contradictions, unclear language, etc. like the Quran. #### Besides: Which one of the 20-30 known versions accepted by Islam of the Quran (see 15/9c) - if any (and there were even more versions through the times) - is in case the correct one?
Finally: Always when you read the Quran, Hadiths, and other Islamic books, you should remember that Muhammad accepted the use of and himself used dishonesty in many forms in words and deeds. Even if the names are younger, it was he who institutionalized dishonesty like al-Taqiyya (the lawful lie), Kitman (the lawful half-truth), Hilah (the lawful pretending/circumventing), the use of deceit ("war is deceit" - and "everything" is war), betrayal (f.x. the peace delegation from Khaybar), and even the disuse of oaths (2/225, 5/89, 16/91, 66/2 - and the star case 3/54 (if Allah could cheat, cheating is ok) ), which also includes the disuse of words and promises, as they are weaker than oaths = when oaths can be disused, so can words and promises. On top of this it is very clear from the Quran and all other central Islamic books, that Muhammad also liked respect and power and women. Combine these lusts with his acceptance of and personal use of dishonesty - even the gravest kinds: How reliable is that kind of men normally? - and how true and reliable are their never proved claims and tales?
¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤
002 2/3b: "- - - spend out of what We (Allah*) have provided for them (Muslims*) - - -". According to the Quran everything you have are gifts from Allah. In a way a parallel to 11/7a below.
*003 2/26h: “- - - He (Allah*) causes many to stray - - -.” The main point here is that it is Allah who causes it. Can Allah then be a benevolent god when straying means you will end in Hell? There is quite a difference between this and "the lost sheep" in NT (the shepherd - God/Jesus - lost a sheep (similitude for a human) and went far out to find it) . This is one of the places where there are worlds between the basic ideas of Allah and of God/Yahweh - so fundamental differences that it is clear that Muhammad's claim that Allah = Yahweh is wrong - - - unless the god is highly schizophrenic. (See f.x. Luke 15/8-10 and 15/11-31 or Matt. 18/12-14 and 20/8-13).
All this means Allah is deceiving persons. We also here touch Al-Taqiyya (the lawful lie) and Kitman (the lawful half-truth), etc., and lawfully breaking of even oaths (and what then about normal promises?) which is something which is special for Islam. You find this kind of accepted dishonesty in no other of the major religions – and in few of the minor ones.
Actually al-Taqiyya, Kitman, and Hilah are not explicitly introduced in the Quran. It is based on conclusions Islamic scholars have made from things said and done about (dishonest) planning or cheating, honesty, breaking of oaths (introduced in the Quran), etc. in the book and in Hadiths. See the verses below. Institutionalizes by Muhammad and his Quran, but formalized by the scholars.
The Quran and Islam tell that in principle you should be honest. But in many cases where dishonesty will give a better result, you are permitted to lie (Al-Taqiyya, Kitman, Hilah) and even to deceive - done by Muhammad, and thus permitted - or make false oaths or to break oaths you have made (2/225a, 5/89a+b, 16/91, 66/2, 13/42, 27/50 and some more)). In some cases Allah will say it is ok because it is a minor thing or because you did not really mean your oath, and in other cases he will say; “ok – if you pay me some money or give me a gift for expiation afterward”. And then in some cases it is not only permitted, but advice to use it "if necessary": To defend or promote Islam.
Al-Taqiyya, Kitman, and Hilah can be used at least in these cases (for deceit and broken oaths, etc. there are given no real limitations if the broken oath, etc. will give a better result. By implication this also goes for ordinary words or promises, as an oath is something stronger than a normal promise or a normal given word).
- To save your or others' health or life.
- To get out of a tight spot or a dangerous problem or position.
- To make peace in a family.
- When it will give a better result than honesty or honoring one’s oath.
- To cheat women (should be remembered by girls with Muslim boyfriends wanting sex - or wanting a marriage to get work permit or residence permit in a rich country.)
- To deceive opponents/enemies.
- To betray enemies.
- To secure one’s money (very clear from Hadiths).
- To defend Islam. (Advised if necessary to succeed.)
- To promote Islam. (Advised if necessary to succeed.)
For deceit, betrayal, disuse of oaths, etc. Islam does not give any specific limits.
But al-Taqiyya, etc. are a double-edged sword: In the short run you may cheat and deceive some ones – actually also in the long run if the opposite part does not know about this side of Muslims and of Islam, or if he/she is naïve or wishes to believe.
But the serious side effect is that people quickly learn that one can never know for sure when to believe a Muslim in serious questions: Is he honest or is he using f.x. an al-Taqiyya?
And there is another side effect: Muslims have difficulties being believed even when they are telling the full truth – for very good reasons the opposite parts are reluctant to fully believe them, as may be they tell the truth or maybe they just are practicing al-Taqiyya or Kitman or something.
And yet another side effect: How can Muslims know when to believe their leaders and others? (This may be one of the reasons for why Muslims produce so may conspiracy theories - they go looking for "the real truth" behind what is told, no matter if the tale is an al-Taqiyya or the plain, sterling truth).
And all these side effects – which really over time may be the main effects – are made worse because Muslims have no way of strengthening their words by swearing, as oaths from Muslims are without much value, because they are permitted to use false oaths and to break their oaths – it is no sin to do so if you did not really mean the oath or have a reason for breaking it, and especially not if you give Allah a gift for expiation afterwards (necessary in serious cases).
*004 2/53b: “- - - We (Allah*) gave Moses the scripture - - -”. The books named after Moses (the 5 first in the Bible - the Torah) are not written by or for Moses and not even at the time of Moses. Moses lived (if he is not a fiction) around 1300-1200 BC (if the Exodus from Egypt really took place, it took place ca. 1235 BC = during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II according to science - though some scientists think it was a little later, under Ramses II's son and successor Merneptah), and those books were written not earlier than ca. 800 BC - perhaps as late as 500 BC - also this according to science. (But remember there is a difference between writing down a story later, and falsifying a story, like Muslims claims - without and even against documentation). What Moses got according to the Bible, were the 10 Commandments written in stone + he was told the law (parts of what later was called the Book (or Books) of Moses - in 2/53 called the Scriptures) which he himself wrote down afterward (this sometimes is called "the Book of Covenant" - f.x. 2. Mos. 24/7). A god had known this, whereas Muhammad knew nothing about their real age, and had to guess. (To be exact: The Bible says that Yahweh told Moses the law – nothing material except the two stone tablets where the ten Commandments were inscribed, were brought down from the mountain – and that he himself wrote down the laws afterward. OT also says that when Solomon moved the Ark of Covenant into the Temple in Jerusalem (1.Kings 8/9), it only contained the two stone tablets. There is nothing about “the Books of Moses”, though the OT makes it clear that the laws existed in writing and were found again later – but science is unanimous that the Books of Moses (you also see it written in singular) are written much later. If Muslims claim something else, they will have to produce proofs.) The law really only is part of the Torah/Books of Moses, but the name often is used for the complete "books of Moses".
005 2/143a: "Thus have We (Allah*) made of you an ummah justly balanced - - -." According to M. Asad: "The Message of the Quran" the exact translation of the Arab text here is: "a community of the middle way". The Arabs had business connections as far as India and China already at this time - and there they met Buddhists. For Buddhism "the middle way" is the central concept. Can this be an idea from Buddhism? - Muhammad "borrowed" ideas from wherever he found them.
006 2/172c: “Eat of the good things that We (Allah*) have provided for you - - -”. In many religions their god(s) provide(s) the food or the ways of producing the food, but no god or priest or prophet has ever proved the claim. Neither does Muhammad. And why should Allah be more reliable than other gods - Allah was asked for proofs, but was unable to give anything but fast words himself- - - he has not even proved his existence, which would be very easy for him to do if he was real. Did Muhammad create the Quran? - and his god?
007 2/245c: "It is Allah that giveth (you (humans*)) want or plenty - - -". It is Allah who decides everything about your life - included being poor or rich - according to the Quran. This is the Quran's standard "explanation" for why some are rich and some not.
008 2/254c: "Spend out of (the bounties) We (Allah*) have provided for you (Muslims*)- - -". Also this claim you often meet in the Quran: It is Allah who has given you everything you have.
An irony is that much of the bounty Muslims had to go out and steal/rob/loot themselves - and not from Allah. It tells something about Islam that things stolen or extorted during or after a religious raid/war is a gift from the god.
009 2/261b: "Allah giveth manifold increase to whom He pleaseth - - -". This may refer to the promised good life in Paradise, or it may be a version of the standard Islamic explanation why many non-Muslims live a good life, whereas many Muslims are badly off: Allah in his deep and not understandable wisdom has decided it like that. (Like so often the book which claims it is clear and easy to understand, is not clear).
010 2/268c: "Allah promiseth you - - - bounties". At least if you go to war and can steal it yourself in his name (it is a lot extra despising to do it in the name of their god - what kind of god and what kind of culture is this?)
011 2/269a: “He (Allah*) granteth wisdom to whom He pleaseth - - -”. Wisdom is a result of genes/intelligence and knowledge (with a possible exception for Yahweh). Many gods say they provided it - not one single of them has proved it till this date, with the possible exception of Yahweh. Words and lose statements are much cheaper than proofs.
012 3/8b: "- - - Thou (Allah*) hast guided us (by means of the Quran*) - - -". No god has guided via the Quran - too much is wrong for any god to be involved in that book.
013 3/27d: “Thou (Allah*) gives sustenance to whom Thou pleases - - -”. Perhaps - but many gods say the same, and like them neither Allah nor Muhammad ever proved one single millimeter, as a contrast to Jesus, if the Bible tells the truth. One more thing: This - that Allah does what he finds wisest - also is one of Islam's standard explanations why Muslims are not always on top (have "most sustenance"). Also see 11/7a below.
014 3/73g: "All bounties are in the hand of Allah. He granteth them to whom He pleaseth - - -". Allah in his unfathomable wisdom decides who is to have a good life and who not. Well, it is an "explanation" for what seems unfair in this world.
015 3/145g: "If any do desire a reward in this life, We (Allah*) shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him (note: the Quran seldom speaks about women*)". But remember the old fact: Allah can give nobody anything unless he exists and is a real god - after all Muhammad just took the old pagan Arab god al-Lah/Allah, dressed him up, used only the name Allah, and claimed without ever being able to prove a comma about it, that this was the mighty and all-powerful single god, and his own boss. He also claimed - like always for him in central religious questions, without any proof - that Yahweh and Allah were the same god. Their teachings, moral codes, etc. are way too different for this to be true (and remember here that both science and Islam - against their wish and will - strongly have proved that the Bible is not falsified, in spite of Muhammad's never proved claims).
016 3/180b: "- - - the gifts which Allah hath given - - -". Nothing of what you own is a result of your toil or robbing - it is gifts from Allah.
017 4/6a: “Make a trial of orphans until they reach the age of marriage; if then ye find sound judgment in them, release their property to them - - -”. See 4/2 above.
018 4/32a: "And in no wise covet those things in which Allah hath bestowed His gifts more freely on some of you than on others - - -." The old problem: "I am a good Muslim. Why do non-Muslims or bad Muslims have better lives than me?" This is explained away several places in the Quran - explained away. The most used "explanation" simply is that Allah in his deep wisdom has decided it like that - and that in the claimed next life you will be on top and they punished - - - quite a comfort for you to "know".
####019 4/32b: - - - but ask Allah for His bounty". Why? If Allah has predestined everything, prayers is a waste of time - nobody and nothing can change Allah's Plan according to the Quran.
This in reality is one more - but never mentioned - utmost severe contradiction in the Quran: If Allah has predestined everything according to his unchangeable Plan, like the Quran states several places, it is cheating and a parody to tell Muslims that prayers may have an effect.
As for the value of prayers in Islam, also see 62/9c. And if you combine 62/9c with 67/9c - a strong one - you get something thought-provoking. (And relevant here: Muslims often are taught that a question or problem which really can have only one valid solution, can have 2 or more true and correct solutions - Islam is forced to teach this, because if not many of the mistakes and contradictions in the Quran become too obvious. But this ONLY is true if parallel true solutions are possible. F.x. in cases where 2 or more possible solutions are mutually excluding each other, maximum 1 of the mutually excluding ones can be true. Islam teaches differently. It should be a bit thought provoking for Muslims, that just this "small" difference in theoretical thinking and teaching, was one of the reasons (there were several of course) for why Europe and the West exploded into the Technical Revolution, while the Muslim area stagnated). Two star examples are: 1): Full predestination is not possible even for an omnipotent god to combine with even the smallest piece of free will for man - the two are mutually excluding. Islam is teaching differently. 2): The same for full and unchangeable predestination long time before, combined with any claimed effect of prayers - the two are mutually excluding each other. Islam is teaching differently.)
Another fact: Today it is easy by means of statistical methods to check if prayers have any effect. (Let f.x. 1ooo persons each pray for one among 1ooo unknown persons sick or in other ways in need. compare the result after some time with a similar group of 1ooo who has not been prayed for, and see if there is a difference. If there is a positive difference, this would be a strong indication or perhaps even a proof for something - a proof Islam strongly and dearly needs, as they have not any proof for even a single of its central religious claims. But they have not even tried to make such a test, even though this kind of tests and proofs are frequently used by science today, and a well known method. Why?)
020 4/37a: "- - - the bounties which Allah hath bestowed on them - - -". Everything you have, are gifts from Allah according to the Quran (and as Allah predestine what you are going to have, why work?)
021 4/39a: "- - - what Allah hath given them (Muslims*) for sustenance - - -". Everything you have, is given you from Allah according to the Quran.
022 4/40e: "- - - and giveth from His (Allah's) own presence a great reward". Often claimed, never proved - and a promise any Pagan can tell about his god, as long as he are able to evade all requests for proofs.
023 4/70b: "- - - the Bounty from Allah - - -". Does the Quran here mean what the Muslims stole/steal, raped/rape and enslaved during raids and wars?
024 4/78d: “All things are from Allah.” From other places in the Quran one knows that “all things” means everything which happens, is given, is taken/stolen, and anything else. Then 4/78 is clearly contradicted by 4/79: “- - - but whatever evil happens to thee, is from thy (own) soul”. In addition this sentence from 4/79 is wrong – there f.x. are the natural and other catastrophes and accidents impossible for you to cause, and there are other peoples’ and animals’ actions. In addition every verse telling that man has free will, is contradicted by this (and many others) verse – free will for man and full predestination, and even only full precognition are absolutely impossible to combine even for a god. Even Islam admits that it is impossible to combine, “but all the same it has to be true as Allah says so (in the Quran)”! (“The Message of the Quran” 6/149, note 6/141).
025 4/79a: "Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah - - -". Nothing good is from your toil or brain or thieving - it is a gift from Allah. (But then why toil or think?).
026 4/130a: "But if they (a married couple*) disagree (and must part), Allah will provide abundance for all - - -". This is so obviously wrong that we do not squander time on comments - poverty was/is the result for all too many of the women.
027 5/7a: "And call in remembrance the favor of Allah unto you (Muslims*) - - -". There never in the entire history and prehistory was a documented case of a favor to anyone from Allah. Claims, yes - proved cases, no. Guess if Islam had told about it if it had happened!
028 5/11b: "- - - the favors of Allah onto you - - -". A claim saying that Allah helped "the believers", but the claim is too vague to indicate with what - perhaps during the early times in Mecca? Nothing is documented - like normal for Islam and the Quran there is just a claim. More essential: There is documented not one case of proved help from Allah to anyone - nowhere and throughout the times. (The best proof for this: If there had been even one proved case, Islam had broadcast it to say the least of it. There is no such broadcast.)
029 5/21a: “- - - the holy land which Allah hath assigned unto you (Moses and his Jews*) - - -“. Allah or Yahweh? (See also 3/51 above).
######030 5/35g: “- - - strive with might and main (see 5/35a-b*) in His (Allah’s*) cause - - -”. For us this is one of the most detestable points in the entire Quran and Islam: Fight and steal and rob and mutilate and rape and enslave and hate and murder and get rich and suppress in the name of your god, and as a service to your god - a claimed good and benevolent god! The fact that it shall be made in the name of the god, makes this rule extra detestable to us.
The same god as Yahweh? Jesus and Muhammad in the same religion? Don't ask silly questions.
031 5/48o: "- - - what He (Allah*) hath given you - - -". Everything you own is a gift from Allah, according to the Quran.
032 5/64c: "- - - both His (Allah's*) hands are widely outstretched (for giving*) - - -". This only is possible if he exists. (Most of the riches the Muslims got, simply were stolen from the surrounding people, hardly gifts from any god.)
033 6/133c: "- - - even as He (Allah*) raised you (Arabs/Muslims*) up from the posterity of other people". There were ruins and there were traditions from and about earlier people in and around Arabia. Muhammad claimed they all were destroyed because of sins against Allah, and their lands and habitats given to the people living at his time, in the hope that they would do better.
034 6/134a: “All that hath been promised unto you (for better or worse*) will come to pass: nor can you frustrate it (in the least bit)”: Everything Allah has predestined for you, will happen. (A never answered question here is: Why then bother with praying to Allah, when everything is predestined, and nothing can change the predestinations?)
#035 6/136a: “Out of what Allah hath produced in abundance in tilth and in cattle - - -”. One more a lose statement about what Allah does, just hanging in the air for want of proof or documentation. ####As they have no proofs of any central claim, it is not strange that Islam glorifies blind belief without proofs, or tells that it is primitive not to be able to see from the texts in the Quran that it is from a god, in spite of all mistakes and invalid “signs” and “proofs” and lose statements - hallmarks of cheats and deceivers and manipulators of men - and as primitive to ask for proofs. Even though what really is primitive is to believe anything and everything without proofs - primitive and naïve. (In all other aspects of life, blind belief is the sure way to be cheated).
036 6/142a: "- - - what Allah hath provided for you - - -". Everything you have, is provided for you by Allah - and as normal for Muhammad; no proof - - - and an easy claim for any religion.
037 7/10b: "- - - and provided you (people*) with means for the fulfillment of your life - - -". See 7/10a just above.
038 7/32a: "- - - which He (Allah*) hath produced for His servants (people*) - - - for sustenance - - -". Allah has produced everything according to the Quran. Also see 7/29d above.
039 7/74a: "- - - He (Allah*) made you inheritors - - -". Yet another not proved claim.
040 7/74c: "- - - the benefits (ye (Muslims*) have received) from Allah - - -". There is not documented one single case of benefit clearly given by Allah in the entire history of Islam - a number of claims, but only claims based on air or belief, and nothing provably from him. The best proof: If there had existed clear cases, Islam had told about the proofs often and in big words. There are no such words.
041 7/140c: "- - - it is Allah Who hath endowed you (the Jews*) with gifts - - -". Everything one has, is from Allah - often claimed, never proved.
042 7/140d: "- - - it is Allah Who hath endowed you (the Jews*) with gifts - - -". Contradicted by the Bible, which tells that Moses spoke about Yahweh, not about Allah. Also see 67/9c below - a strong one. But of course it is ok for Islam to prove - prove - the Bible wrong and the Quran right. But as we say: Prove, not just lose claims and as lose and invalid words like the Quran always use instead of proofs.
043 8/3c: "- - - the gifts We (Allah*) have given them for sustenance". All money, etc. you made - or robbed/stole - in reality was/is not from your labor or raiding - it is a gift from Allah, according to the book.
###044 8/29c: "- - - He (Allah*) will grant you a Criterion (to judge between right and wrong),- - -". In 1400 years he has not been able to do so. The Muslims have got the Quran, included the basis for the sharia laws - perhaps from Allah if he exists and is a god (no god was ever involve in a book of that quality), may be from dark forces (the immorality and inhumanity in the Quran and in the sharia laws may indicate this), may be from a mental illness (TLE - Temporal Lobe Epilepsy) like modern medical science suspects, or may be from one or more cold and scheming brain(s), perhaps Muhammad himself, like all the mistakes which are in accordance with wrong science in Arabia at that time, used in the Quran, and also the wide use in the Quran of local Arab folklore, legends and fairy tales, may indicate. Compare the Quran and the sharia laws, though, to the basis for all true ethics, moral, and just laws: "Do against others like you want others do against you", and there is only one possible conclusion: After 1400 years Muslims still have not received a criterion telling the difference between right and wrong. Also see 8/29d just below.
045 9/28i: "- - - soon will Allah enrich you, if he wills - - -". If you do not become richer, the reason is not your laziness, lack of knowledge about your job or anything - it is Allah who in his unfathomable wisdom has decided it like that - and similar if you grow poor. "If he wills - - -".
046 9/59a: "If they (Muslims*) has been content with what Allah and His Prophet (Muhammad*) gave them". It was Muhammad who split the loot, but to reduce his blame and to put weight behind his claim, he adds Allah. "Accept the authorities and be content with what they/Muhammad decide!" This is any dictator's point of view - be satisfied with what I decide and what I do.
047 9/59f: "Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad*) will soon give us of His bounty - - -". Stolen from weaker victims. See 58 and 59a above.
048 9/72e: "- - - the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allah - - -". Once more we are up against the fact that this cannot be true, unless Allah exists and is a god. There is no proof for any of those claims.
049 9/72e: "- - - the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allah - - -". Once more we are up against the fact that his cannot be true, unless Allah exists and is a god. There is no proof for any of those claims.
050 9/75a: "Amongst them (some bad Muslims/hypocrites/non-Muslims*) are men who covenanted with Allah, that if He bestowed on them of His bounty - - -". They covenanted with the god that if he made them rich, they would be generous. Some covenance. Some god.
It is not explained how Allah expressed his agreement to the claimed covenant.
051 9/76c: "- - - He (Allah*) did bestow - - -". Allah? Or somebody/something else? Or their own initiative or work or thieving/robbing?
052 10/59a: "See ye (humans*) what things Allah hat sent down to you for sustenance?" One of the very many, but never documented claims Muhammad makes, claiming that ordinary natural phenomena - here food, etc. - are "signs" ("Quran-speak" for indications or proofs) or "proofs" for his god - or for glorification of him. 100% invalid as long as Islam does not first prove it really is Allah who is behind the phenomena. Claims so cheap that any priest or believer in any religion can say just the same on behalf of his own god(s),
053 10/58a: "- - - the Bounty of Allah - - -". The good things from Allah. But one point Islam never points to, is that all the bounty Muhammad and his Muslims - and many later Muslims - ever "received", were things (and humans) they stole/looted with permission from Muhammad and later leaders (and Muhammad also claimed Allah had given his permission).
At least for the "bounty" in this life, the claim is wrong, unless Islam proves the opposite.
#####t may here be worth remembering that the Quran at least one place clearly and directly tells that there still is much bounty left in the world - still much to steal.
054 10/60d: "- - - Allah is full of Bounty to mankind - - -". There still was much and rich loot to be taken, Muhammad said. Whereas at least for the old Protestants, the world was full of work to be done - work which turned out to bring the word forwards, instead of war and robbery bringing it into stagnation, like happened to the Islamic parts of the world - and even more so to the countries of their victims. (And which is likely to happen to the whole world if Islam with its view on non-religious knowledge and on religious ruling of the communities and the world, wins out in the end. But remember we say Islam, not Arabs or Berbers, or other groups of people).
055 11/3c: "- - - He (Allah*) may grant you enjoyment - - -". We are back to the major problem in the Quran: There only is the word of a hardly reliable man (al-Taqiyya, Kitman, Hilah "war is deceit", "break even your oaths") for that Allah exists and even is a major god. If he is not, Allah can do or give nothing.
056 11/6a: "- - - (all creatures'*) sustenance dependeth on Allah - - -". According to the Quran everything depends on Allah - but as normal for the book never a thing is proved or documented. And as long as you refuse or are unable to prove anything at all, such words are very cheap - any priest or writer of "holy" text for any god can use them free of charge - - - and does so (you find it in most religions). On the other hand: Such cheap words - often used for propaganda - prove exactly nothing, unless it is proved that the god really causes what they claim.
057 13/22d: "- - - what We (Allah*) have bestowed for their sustenance - - -". It of course is Allah who makes the food grow. But see 11/72 above. Actually this is done by nature + the farmer, unless Islam proves differently.
058 13/26a: "Allah doth enlarge, or grant by (strict) measure, the Sustenance (which He giveth) to whomso He pleaseth." It is Allah who decides if you are to be rich or poor, or have a good or a difficult life - and the hidden meaning behind such sentences often is: As it is Allah who in his unfathomable knowledge has decided it so, then be satisfied with what you get and wait for rewards in the claimed next life. At least a very nice rule for rulers who do not want demanding or unsatisfied voices from their subordinates.
059 14/31c: "- - - the Sustenance We (Allah*) have given them (Muslims*) - - -". It is Allah who gives you everything (and as everything is predestined and you will get what Allah has decided, then why work?)
060 14/34a: "And He (Allah*) giveth you (Muslims*) of all that ye ask for". A questionable claim - we have met a lot of dissatisfied Muslims.
061 14/34b: "- - - if ye (people*) count the favors of Allah, never will ye be able to number them". Similar often claimed, but never proved. The fact is that there never through all times has been ones single proved case of Allah giving favor to anybody. Also see 11/7a above. (Also: According to mathematics 0 is not a number. If Allah in reality has given humans and humanity nothing - 0 - it is not possible to number his real gifts.)
062 15/20: "We (Allah*) have provided therein (the Earth*) means of substance - - -". See 11/7a above.
063 15/20-21: Everything is provided by Allah. See 11/7a above.
064 16/18a: "If ye (Muslim? people?) would count up the favors of Allah, never would you be able to number them - - -". One more of the many never proved claims in the Quran. Read, and you will find plenty of more. They have at least two things in common:
1): They are never proved - and lose words are cheap. ("A proof is one or more proved facts which can give only one conclusion". "What is claimed without a proof, may be dismissed without a proof".)
2): In absolutely all such cases any person in any religion can claim the same on behalf of his/her god(s) - lose words are that cheap.
(In both cases there may be exceptions among the ones taken from the Bible, but they in case are about Yahweh, not about Allah.)
065 16/53b: "And ye (humans*) have no good things but is from Allah - - -". Nothing is from Allah unless he exists, and little unless he is a god. Besides Yahweh represents some good things according to the Bible.
066 16/56c: "- - - that which We (Allah*) have bestowed for their (non-Muslim's*) sustenance!" Everything is from Allah according to the Quran - nothing from f.x. nature or your own toil.
067 16/71a: “Allah has bestowed His gift of sustenance - - -". It is Allah who has made it of course. But see 11/7a above.
068 16/71c: "- - - those more favored (rich because Allah has made them so*) are not going to throw back their gifts (from Allah*) to those whom their right hand possess, so as to be equal in that respect." Equality among human beings is not for Islam - it is to deny the favors of Allah.
069 16/71f: "- - - the favors of Allah - - -". There are lots and lots of claims about such favors in the Quran, but not one single real proof, neither there nor any other place. And as the Quran has so many mistakes, etc., that it is not from any god, how can we then rely on any point in it, included this one, without a proof? Also a bit similar to 11/7a above.
070 16/72a: “And Allah has made for you mates - - -”. To be a bit flippant: Some men and many women think their mate is not from a god, but from a devil. But at least: Let us see Islam’s proof for this being true - it is not proved it is an act of Allah.
071 16/72b: "- - - (Allah*) made for you - - - sons and daughters and grandchildren - - -". See 11/7a above. In addition: May be you have done a little yourself, too.
This claim in the Quran is wrong unless Islam proves the opposite.
072 16/72d: "- - - (Allah') provided for you sustenance - - -". Rather similar to 11/7a above.
According to science this is done by nature, and this claim in the Quran thus is wrong unless Islam proves the opposite.
073 16/79b: "Verily (though it definitely is no proved verity/truth*) in this (that only Allah keeps the birds high up in the air*) are signs for those who believe". Strong sign - Quran-speak for proof for Allah - as the claim is wrong. See 16/79a just above. Especially impressive as the claim is not true. What keeps them up, are the laws of aerodynamics.
074 16/81i: "- - - His (Allah's*) favors to you - - -". There has never been documented one case of proved favor from Allah from the time of Muhammad or before and till this day - lots of claims, but not one clear case.
075 16/83d: "- - - the favors of Allah - - -". Often claimed, but not once unmistakable proved. Not once.
076 16/114a: "So eat of the sustenance which Allah had provided - - -". Allah has made everything, included your food, according to the Quran - but see 11/7a above.
077 16/114b: "- - - the favors of Allah - - -". Often claimed, never proved.
078 17/30b: "Verily thy (Muslims'/Muhammad's*) Lord (Allah*) doth provide sustenance - - -". Allah gives you everything, according to the Quran. But it definitely is no proved verity/truth. Rather similar to 11/7a above.
079 17/55e: “We (Allah*) gave David (the gift of) the Psalms”. According to science the psalms are a lot younger than King David – at least most of them. A god had known.
080 17/67c: "- - - he brings you (non-Muslim*) back safe to land - - -". See 17/64b above. There has never been a provable case of this - not ever.
081 17/83a: "When We (Allah*) bestow our favor on man - - -". There is not one single clear such case in the entire history. Lots of claims, but not one proved case.
082 18/1c: “- - - Allah, Who hath sent down to his Servant - - - the Book (the Quran*)". Well, the next sinister question is: Can a book this full of mistaken facts and other mistakes, really be sent down by an omniscient god? If yes, does that mean that Allah is not omniscient/omnipotent? If no, does it mean that someone else who is/was not omniscient, has made (up) the Quran? The last question is most sinister, especially if it means that Islam is a made up religion, and even more so if this (may be?) made up religion blocks the road for its “believers” to a real religion (if such one exists). The answers have got to be: No omniscient god would make such an unreliable book (among other reasons because man had to see the mistakes sooner or later), and it is likely it is made by one or more humans at the time of Mohammad (among other reasons because the mistakes and many of the stories are in accordance with what one believed in Arabia at that time). There also is the alternative that the Quran is made by the dark forces, but not even they would deliver a claimed "holy" book of a quality like the Quran - they had to know that man sooner or later would discover all the errors, etc.
083 18/84b: "- - - and We (Allah*) gave him (Alexander the Great*) the ways and means to all ends". Alexander was the son of the Macedonian king Philip, and became a king after his father's death. May be it was a god who gave him his means, or maybe there were logical reasons for them. Somewhat similar to 11/7a above.
084 20/132b: "- - - We (Allah*) provide it (sustenance*) for thee (people*)." See 11/7a above.
A question: Who really provides it? - dark forces? Allah? - nature + work? - or perhaps thieving/looting?
085 21/44a: "We (Allah*) gave the good things of life to these men - - -". The age-old question: Why do bad persons have better life than "us"? - and its unbeatable "explanation": Because the wise god has decided it so - but cool down and comfort yourself, for in the end they will be punished and you on top - - - in the claimed next life.
086 22/28c: "- - - the cattle which He (Allah*) has provided - - -". Everything you own, is given you from Allah. Nature or your toil - or stealing/looting - has provided nothing?
087 22/35e: "- - - out of what (wealth*) We (Allah*) have bestowed upon them (Muslims*)". It is Allah who gives you everything according to the Quran - not unlike 11/7a above. But they had to produce or steal the wealth themselves - NOTHING ever was proved to really be a gift from a god, not to mention for the claimed god Allah.
088 23/72d: "He (Allah*) is the Best of those who give sustenance". Well, there is the always recurring question: Yahweh?
089 24/32b: "- - - Allah will give them (poor people*) means out of His grace - - -". Persons who have seen the dire poverty some places, and know that it could be even worse in the old times, are a bit reluctant to easily believe this.
090 24/38d: "- - - Allah doth provide for those whom He will, without measure". One of the very many lose claims in the Quran - often claimed, never proved.
###091 24/55b: "Allah has promised - - - that He will, of a surety, grant them (the Muslims*) in the land, inheritance (of power) - - -". ####This is a serious reminder to all non-Muslims - not the message itself, because if Allah and/or the Quran are made up and fiction, the message itself is void of any value. But the belief of the Muslims - this is what the believers among them believe they are promised; the power in the land, all land. Not only the power, but the power as an inheritance - forever. This is what they believe they are promised, and therefore this is what they are looking forward to and work for - some of them "in every strategy (of war)" (9/5).
092 25/10c: "Blessed is He (Allah*) Who - - - could give thee (people*) better (things) than those - - -". Often claimed, but there never was a proved case where Allah gave anything to anybody.
093 27/64b "- - - - who gives you sustenance from heaven (rain*) and earth (food*)?" More natural phenomena or simply undocumented claims used as indication for Allah. Totally invalid as long as it is not proved Allah really does this. See 11/7a above.
094 28/54f: "- - - out of what We (Allah*) have given them (Muslims*)". According to the Quran Allah have given you everything you have. But had you had so much if you relied on Allah's predestination - that he according to his Plan shall give you this and this - and stopped working? - or if a warrior; stopped stealing?
095 28/77a: "- - - the (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on thee (Muslim*) - - -". Everything you own, is a gift from Allah, not a result of your own toil or stealing/robbery according to the Quran.
096 28/82c: "It indeed is Allah Who enlarges the provision or restricts it - - -". This is the Quran's standard explanation for why non-Muslims and bad Muslims often have a better life than good Muslims: Allah in his unfathomable wisdom has decided it like this - the predestination again. But sooth yourself; you will come out best in the next life. Nothing of this is ever proved, but that does not matter, as long as people believe it. And as this was Muhammad's standard explanation, it was - and is - nice to have it "confirmed" by others like here (and some other places).
097 29/17d: "- - - seek ye (Noah's people*) sustenance from Allah - - -". It is Allah who gives you all things, according to the Quran. Not dissimilar to 11/7a above.
098 29/27a: "And We (Allah*) gave (Abraham,) - - -". According to the Bible it was Yahweh who did this - or El, which was the older name for Yahweh, and the name it is likely Abraham knew. El was the main god in some regions in that area in very old times. (The corresponding Arab god was Il, later named al-Ilah (the moon god of at least south Arabia - it is no co-incidence that the crescent moon is the symbol for Allah and for Islam) and then al-Lah - and sometimes the lazier pronunciation Allah, which was the name Muhammad took over.)
099 29/60a: "It is Allah who feeds (both) them (all living beings*) and you - - -". See 11/7a above.
100 30/34a: "- - - the (favors We (Allah*) have bestowed on them (some people*) -". The dispiriting fact here is that in the entire history and prehistory there is not proved one single case of Allah bestowing favors on anybody. There are lots of claims, but not one proved case (if there had been, Islam had told about it with loud-speakers).
101 30/37a: “See they not that Allah enlarges the provision and restricts it, to whomsoever He pleases? Verily, in that are Signs for those who believe”. There are signs of Allah in the fact that some are rich, some are poor and some are directly in distress? Islam must prove that no other explanations for riches and poverty are possible. Without such proofs these presumed signs are invalid as proofs. (This also is the Quran's standard and easy explanation for why some have a good life and others not: Allah's unfathomable decisions).
102 30/40b: "It is Allah Who has created you: further He has provided for your sustenance - - -". See 11/7a above.
103 30/45d: "- - - out of His (Allah's*) Bounty." Everything anyone gets in this life, comes out of Allah's bounty - at least according to the Quran. In reality they had to produce or steal it themselves.
104 30/46f: "- - - seek of His (Allah's*) Bounty." Everything anyone gets in this life, comes out of Allah's bounty - at least according to the Quran.
105 31/20c: "- - - (Allah*) has made His bounties flow to you (Muslims*) in exceeding measures - - -". For one thing many a Muslim does not have material means and good life "in exceeding measures", and for another: Similar claim is put forth many places in the Quran, but never proved. On the contrary: Within a work or an area or both there normally there is a correlation between your toil + knowledge and your outcome - your bounty. This indicates it is not a god, but your/somebody's work and/or background which decides how big your bounty will be.
##Another fact: They did not get anything as a gift - they had to produce it or steal it themselves.
106 32/9c: "And He (Allah*) gave you (the faculties of) hearing and sight and feeling (and understanding) - - -". See 11/7a and 21/56c above.
107 32/16b: "- - - the sustenance which We (Allah*) have bestowed on them (Muslims*)". Allah gives you everything - rather similar to 11/7a above.
108 33/8a: “That (Allah) may question the (custodians (see 33/7 and 33/8a just above*)) of Truth concerning the Truth they (were charged with) - - -”. The Quran says/pretends that the old scriptures of Israel were the same as in the Quran, but that bad Jews distorted them. If that had been true, they at best were charged with bits and pieces of truth - see all mistakes, lofty “explanations” and invalid “signs” and “proofs” in the Quran. (Besides science has proved the Bible - here OT - is not falsified. Islam has proved it even stronger by being unable to find any proved falsification in all the thousands of relevant old manuscripts. There may be some mistakes, but no proved falsifications.) One more thing: No omniscient god like what Yahweh is according to the Bible, needs to ask about anything which has happened. (It is done some times in the Bible, but for rhetoric reasons.)
109 33/27a: (Continued from 33/26 above): "And He (Allah*) made you heirs of their land, their houses, their goods, and of land ye had not frequented (before) - - -". Muhammad "on the war-path" stole everything - in this case (Medina) also their homes and land - - - in addition to making the women and children slaves and murdering the men (some 700 men and youths).
Muhammad was very different from Jesus. Very.
110 33/27b: “And He (Allah*) made you heirs of their land, their houses, and their goods, and of a land which ye had not frequented (before). And Allah has power over all things”. Some rich spoils of war can justify much, and quiet many a man’s conscience - especially when a god sanctifies it. Could such things happen today or in the future? - we do not mention names like Darfur or Indonesia or East Timor or the Turks against Christian underlings around 1900 AD - f.x. in Armenia and Smyrna. It is accepted in the Quran as "lawful and good" and the Quran cannot be changed - a fact those forget who talks about liberalizing Islam. If Islam gains the upper hand, things like this may/will happen again, as it is part of the Quran's unchangeable and partly immoral moral code.
And like Muhammad did against the Jews in and around Medina - stealing even their farms and houses (mad Muslims "heirs" of it) - Islam frequently did other places later = one more incitement for warriors to go to war and perhaps "inherit" a farm or something.
Muhammad was very different from Jesus. Very. And in a very different religion.
111 34/4f: "(Allah gives good Muslims*) a Sustenance most Generous". One of the many not proved claims in the Quran. The poverty through the times and even today in many Muslim areas, prove this wrong if it is meant to be the case for this life. If it is meant the possible next life; big, not provable words are quite normal for Muhammad and the Quran. Also see 34/4a above.
112 34/15d: "- - - the Sustenance (provided) by your (peoples'*) Lord (Allah*) - - -". According to the Quran everything is provided by Allah. True or fairy tale?
113 34/36c: "Verily my Lord (Allah*) enlarges and restricts the Provision to whom He pleases - - -". Whether you are rich or not, means nothing, because that only is a result of Allah's whim'. True or not does not mean much, as long as Muslims believe it. (But it is not difficult today to prove that a good life is something that to a large degree depends on yourself.
114 34/39c: "Verily my Lord (Allah*) enlarges and restricts the Provision to whom He pleases - - -". Whether you are rich or not, means nothing, because that only is a result of Allah's whim'. True or not does not mean much, as long as Muslims believe it. (But it is not difficult today to prove that a good life is something which to a large degree depends on yourself.
115 34/39e: "- - - He (Allah*) is the Best of those who grant Sustenance". Two points: There has never been proved that he grants anything at all - words are cheaper than deeds. And where on the list is Yahweh?
116 35/3e: "(Only Allah can*) give you sustenance from heaven or earth - - -". This never proved claim is correct only if Allah exists, is a major god, is correctly described in the Quran, and if there is no other god - f.x. Yahweh (whose existence the Quran admits, even though it wrongly mixes him up with Allah).
117 35/29aa: "- - - the Book of Allah (the Quran*) - - -". If it is the book of Allah, Allah is not omniscient. If Allah is omniscient, the Quran and all its errors is not the Book of Allah.
118 36/47a: "- - - the (bounties) with which Allah has provided - - -". Everything is gifts from Allah according to the Quran.
119 38/9c: "(Allah*) the Grantor of Bounties without measure". Also a never proved claim. Many Muslims grew rich by stealing/robbing from non-Muslims and often killing them or in other ways destroying their lives - acts forever after glorified by Islam and by Muslims. But many a Pagan other places grew rich the same way - it was not the work of a Allah, but of injustice, immoral and inhumanity. And as for a possible next life, the claimed benefits only are claims in a book full of wrongs, and told by the man who institutionalized things like al-Taqiyya (the lawful lie), Kitman (the lawful half-truth), Hilah (the lawful pretending/circumventing), "break even your oath if that gives a better result", and "war is deceit and betrayal" (and everything outside Islam is the "land of war") simply by accepting it or even use it or advice it himself.
120 38/35d: "- - - Thou (Allah*) art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure)." Often claimed in the Quran, never proved anywhere - lots of claims but never one single proof. Claims are cheap.
121 39/2b: “Verily it is We (Allah*) Who have revealed the Book (the Quran*) - - -”. Is that really so? Verily, it is impossible to believe so - too many mistakes, etc. No god ever was involved in a book of a quality like the Quran. See 38/29a-d above.
122 39/2e: “(Allah has*) revealed the Book (the Quran*) to thee (Muhammad*) in Truth“. Can it really be the truth that Allah has sent down a book like this, with so many errors? - see 2/2b, 13/1g, and 40/75 above. In that case Allah cannot be omniscient. Something is wrong. (For some reason or other Islam and its Muslims seldom claim that Islam is the religion of honesty.)
123 40/13b: "(Allah*) sendeth down Sustenance (in this case rain*) to you from the sky - - -". One of the many, many places in the Quran where Muhammad claims - always without any proof - a natural phenomenon as glorification and proof for his god - - - just as easily and cheaply as any believer in any religion claims just the same phenomena for his god(s), as long as he can flee from the questions of proofs or evade such questions with the glorification of blind belief - the cheapest of all money for swindlers, deceivers, etc. Also see 11/7a above.
124 40/64c: "- - - (Allah*) has provided for you Sustenance". According to the Quran everything are gifts from Allah - so why work?
125 41/10d: "- - - (Allah do*) give them (all living beings*) nourishment - - -". According to the Quran everything are gifts from Allah. Does nature do and make nothing? - and your own work?
126 42/19b: "He (Allah*) gives Sustenance to whom He pleases - - -". This is the standard explanation in the Quran - and in Islam - for why some live a better life than others, and for why non-Muslims often has a better life than most Muslims: Allah wants it like that.
127 42/26h: "- - - (Allah*) gives them (Muslims*) increase in their Bounty - - -". See comment to 42/26e above.
128 42/38c: "- - - what We (Allah*) bestow on them (Muslims*) for Sustenance". Everything you have got, are gifts from Allah - your own work to get or make it counts little in the Quran.
129 43/32b: "It is We (Allah*) who portions out between them their livelihood in the life of this World". Everything you have and get are gifts from Allah - your own thinking and planning and work and toil are little relevant in the Quran. Also see 43/32c just below.
130 44/57: "- - - a Bounty from thy (Muslims'*) Lord (Allah*)!" If he exists - and if the Quran has told the full and only truth. (Except that Allah NEVER sent any bounty to them - they had to produce or steal it themselves, but Muhammad all the same claimed it was given to them by Allah.)
131 47/2g: "- - - He (Allah*) will remove from them (Muslims*) their ills and improve their condition". This is on par with much which is said in the Quran, but which has never been proved Allah did. Many Muslims got better economical conditions from stealing, robbing, extortion, and enslaving, but that was not Allah, but their own ill deeds - - - and neither Islam nor Muslims ever mention what price other humans had to pay for this, in the form of ruin, of ruined lives, of deaths. They only see their own big heroes - they lack the necessary moral, and even the moral code telling that others had to pay a too high price for their own life in luxury, and they lack the backbone to see the dark side.
132 47/36d: "- - - He (Allah*) will grant you (Muslims*) your recompense - - -". If he exists, if he is a god, and if he is powerful enough to do so - none of which was ever proved. And what the recompense will be if he belongs to the dark forces, is anybody's guess.
133 48/20c: "Allah has promised you (Muslims*) many gains that ye shall acquire (from plunder*) - - -". Try to find things like this in NT! One more at least 100% proof for that Yahweh and Allah were not the same god - and Jesus and Muhammad not in the same line of anything of any consequence.
134 48/20f: (A48/23 – in 2008 edition A22): “Allah has promised you many gains that ye shall acquire - - -.” Booty. A good and cheap way to get warriors. But does it here only talk about “gold and slaves and a few rapes” in this life (may be Khaybar in this case), or also riches in the next life like among others Ibn Abbas thought?
135 49/17b: "- - - Allah has conferred a favor upon you (Muslims*) that He has guided you to the Faith - - -". Like in all other religions saying similar things, it only is true that it is a favor, if the teachings are true and from a god.
136 49/17c: "- - - Allah has conferred a favor upon you (Muslims*) that He has guided you to the Faith - - -". A harsh war religion may not be a favor to its followers no matter if it is true - and till now there never was a war religion which proved itself a true religion - sometimes strong, but never a proof for that there was a god behind it.
137 50/11a: "(Allah makes*) sustenance for (Allah's*) Servants - - -". See 11/7b and 50/9b above.
138 51/58a: "For Allah is He Who gives (all) sustenance - - -". Often claimed in the Quran - never proved.
139 53/3-4: "Nor does he (Muhammad*) say (aught) of (his own) Desire. It is no less than inspiration sent down to him". This means that everything Muhammad said, in reality was inspired by Allah, and thus Allah's words - which means that also Sunna (Hadiths) can abrogate the Quran and the other way around. But no omniscient god would need to abrogate himself. And in the Quran there are a number of abrogations - lots of them.
It seems that abrogation is/was used mainly in these cases:
- When Muhammad or Allah had said (Quran mainly) or done (Hadith often) something he/they later found was not wise - like the Satanic Verses.
- When Muhammad found that he had forgotten verses - this happened according to Hadith. F.x. al-Bukhari (3/223 and 8/91): ”Aisha (one of Muhammad’s wives*) said: ’(Muhammad said*): - - - he (a man*) reminded me of such and such verses I had dropped from Surah so and so”.
- When Muhammad/Allah found that what he/they had ordained for the Muslims was more than they would accept: Spoils of war belonged to Allah - but it was changed to 20% for Allah and 80% for his men. Praying much of the night, was reduced to less. And each Muslim capable to fight 10 “infidels”, was reduced to 2 “infidels”, etc. But why did not an omniscient god know this from the start?
- When Muhammad/Allah wanted a rule changed - f.x. less and less alcohol, or more and more war. (According to Ibn ’Arabi “'The verse of the sword’ has abrogated 124 verses” - mainly all the peaceful ones.) But why did not an omniscient god know the best rule from the very beginning?
- When Muhammad himself did things differently from his own teachings, his deeds became an abrogation of the Quran. The Quran f.x. prescribes whipping of adulterers, whereas the praxis some places even today is stoning - at least of the woman. The reason is said to be that Muhammad himself practiced stoning - even took part in it personally. His praxis of murdering opponents also made good examples for the future. (There also is a rumor in Islam that there was a verse demanding stoning for illegal sex, but that this verse in case was one of those which were omitted when Uthman had the official Quran made.) The same goes for torture. And murder - though that also was prescribed. There also is f.x. the case of donkey meat – it is not prohibited by the Quran, but Muhammad prohibited it during a war campaign – and forever - according to Hadiths.
The use of abrogation forever was - and is - a problem for Islam. The reason is that with the exception of the “satanic verses” and possible other verses which were abrogated and told by Muhammad to be forgotten - and verses forgotten or for other reasons omitted from the Quran by caliph Uthman and his men when making the “final” Quran in the 650s AD (persistent rumors in Islam tells that some 100 verses were forgotten or for other reasons omitted) - the abrogated verses remain in the book, and much worse: As mentioned above it is often highly unclear which verses are abrogated and invalid, and which are not. Some Muslims say nothing is abrogated (which is a dream made up because abrogation really is not worthy an omniscient god, and raises serious doubts about the god Allah, his omniscience and his powers and his existence, and perhaps also because many people needs something absolute to believe in or rely on) but it only is a dream. The reality is abrogation. The only question is how many verses? As mentioned there are numbers from 5 to 500, but realistic may be 200 - 300 or some more (up to 500) - it depends on how strict the reader is. Muslims tend to find fewer abrogated verses than others - 100 or more are not uncommon - perhaps because they are reluctant to admit unnecessary weaknesses in their god and their religion - - - though Ibn Arabi said about the famous and infamous “verse of the sword” (surah 9/5 “- - - fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them - - -”): "The verse of ‘the sword’ has abrogated 124 verses” - f.x. all the peaceful ones about non-Muslims and about no compulsion in religion. And that was only the “sword verse” - there are many more.
The problem with not knowing which verses are abrogated and which not, is exacerbated by the fact that even the verses Muslim scholars agree on are abrogated, remains in the Quran - they cannot be taken out, because Allah sent it down like that, and men cannot correct his mistakes or what to call it.
Some of the serious results of the uncertainty around abrogated verses are:
- It is difficult to be a judge when you do not for sure know which verses relevant for a case are abrogated and invalid, and which not. How to judge when you know the dictator of your country has nullified paragraphs in the constitution of the country, but without it is possible for you to know for sure which ones and how many?
- Many Muslims honestly believe Islam is a peaceful religion because they do not know or do not believe/accept that the peaceful verses are abrogated. They even may be insulted when being told the opposite. And we non-Muslims should remember that this honest belief leads to a use of their religion which makes these groups of Muslims no danger for their surroundings (but of course our problem is to know who of them are honest and who not).
- It is easy to defend - or make propaganda for - Islam by pointing to peaceful verses without even mentioning the word “abrogation”. Many non-Muslims look at the verse and – not knowing the abrogating rule and verses – believe it.
- A lot of naïve non-Muslims with superficial knowledge about Islam easily accept and tell about the peaceful real Islam - often as opposed to other religions. They simply do not know that Islam started as a mainly peaceful religion, but was transferred to one of hate, stealing, rape, suppression, blood and war around and after 622 AD when Muhammad became strong enough and in addition needed first highwaymen and then warriors.
But: Why did an omniscient god need to change his words and his Plan?? - he had to try and fail and correct? - he was undecided and changed his mind? - or - -? And what does this tell about Allah - if he is not a made up pagan god like he was in the old Arabia?
140 53/43: "- - - it is He (Allah*) who granteth Laughter and Tears - - -". One more never proved claim.
#141 53/55: "Then which of the gifts of thy Lord (Allah*) (O man,) wilt thou dispute about?" None - it is to throw away time and energy unless and until it is proved that Allah exists and that there exists gifts from him.
###142 54/40a: “And We (Allah*) have indeed made the Quran easy to understand - - -.” Anyone wanting to try to “explain” away difficult points like mistakes or invalid logic or contradictions in the Quran by calling them allegories etc. should read this sentence. It even is written 4 times just in this small chapter and thus a solidly cemented and nailed truth: The Quran is to be understood literally, and search for hidden meanings is only for Allah, and such search by humans only is for the ones “in whose hearts is perversity - - -.” . This is mentioned many places in the Quran.
Also see the chapter "Literal language in the Quran - according to the Quran" in "1000+ Comments on the Quran".
There is no doubt whatsoever about that the Quran itself means that the Quran is to be understood literally mainly. And that to look for hidden meanings are wrong. Remind any Muslim trying to “explain” away problems by pretending or claiming they are allegories, about this fact.
143 57/23a: "- - - favors bestowed upon you - - -". All good things you experience, are favors bestowed upon you by Allah (but bad things are your own fault, though predestined by Allah - understand this if you are able to).
*144 57/25e: “- - - We (Allah*) sent down Iron, in which there is awesome power - - - for Allah is Full of Strength, exalted in Might - - - ”. Actually iron is part of nature. Allah must have been up early, because if not it would not be possible to create the Earth, as the centre of the Earth is mainly iron - 4,6 billion years old. Also some mountains where you find the iron are tens and hundreds of million years old. Proof for Allah? Not unless it is proved Allah really sent it down.
145 59/7a: “What Allah has bestowed on His Messenger (Muhammad*) (and taken away from) the people of the townships (= robbed from vanquished people*) belongs to Allah – to his Messenger and to kindred and orphans, the needy and the wayfarer” – and what is not mentioned here: For Muhammad himself and his big family (though it is likely to be true that he did not live in luxury), for payment to the ones who distributed the riches, for bribes to make undecided persons becoming or staying Muslims, for in other ways promoting the religion, and not least to financing more wars. Also the fixed “poor tax” all Muslims who are not too poor have to pay, also are for all these purposes, and as often a lot did go to fighting and other things, it is a question if the name “poor tax” is quite correct. Also see 59/6a above.
This is one of the really strong proofs for that Yahweh and Allah are not the same god - and Jesus and Muhammad not in the same religion: The general rule that things stolen/robbed from weaker or helpless victims belong to the god. Try to find something similar in the Bible, not to mention in NT!
146 61/13a: "And another (favor will He (Allah*) bestow) - - -". The old, black fact once more: One of the many never proved promises in the Quran which cannot be honored unless Allah exists and is a god.
147 62/4b: "- - - Allah is the Lord of the highest bounty". Easy to claim, but never proved. And also it is contradicted by the Bible, which says Yahweh is the highest lord, not Allah. Also see 67/9c below - a strong one. But of course it is ok for Islam to prove - prove - the Bible wrong and the Quran right. But as we say: Prove, not just lose claims and as lose and invalid words like the Quran always use instead of proofs.
148 62/11f: "And Allah is the Best to provide for all needs". A good slogan and a good claim - but like always in the Quran never clearly proved.
149 63/10b: "- - - the substance which We (Allah*) have bestowed on you (people*) - - -". Everything you have got - absolutely everything - is not a result of your own toil, but a gift from Allah.
150 65/2d: "Such is the admonition given to him who believes in Allah and the Last Day - - -". As the Quran is not from a god: The admonition given by whom?
151 65/11q: "Allah hath indeed granted for them a most excellent Provision". If he exists, if he is a benevolent god - and if the Quran tells the truth on this point. (For some reason or other Islam and its Muslims seldom claim that Islam is the religion of honesty.)
152 67/15b: "- - - the Sustenance which He (Allah') furnishes - - -". What you get for a living, is not a result of your work, but a gift from Allah, according to the Quran.
153 67/21a: "- - - who is there that can provide you with Sustenance if He (Allah*) were to withhold His provision?" Here first there is a fundamental question the Quran - like so often - skips: Is it really a god/gods who provide sustenance, etc. for you, or is it nature - perhaps combined with your own toil?
If it is the latter, the question has no meaning. If it is the former, the answer will depend strongly on which gods exist, and not less on which do not exist - as the fact that the Quran is not from any god (too much is wrong in the book), strongly indicates that Allah is a made up god, and consequently a not existing one. Also see 67/9c above.
154 67/21c: "- - - withhold His (Allah's*) provision - - -". Allah can neither provide nor withhold anything unless he exists and is something supernatural. Also see 67/9c above.
155 76/2d: "- - - We (Allah*) gave him (man*) (the gifts) of Hearing and Sight". See 11/7a above.
156 76/23: “It’s We (Allah*) Who have sent down the Quran - - -”. See 13/1g and 40/75 above. No god ever sent down a work of that quality.
157 80/24-32: Allah claims he is producing the food needed by humans and animals. See 11/7a, 21/56c, and 41/15f above.
158 106/4a: "(Allah*) Who provides them (the Meccans*) with food against hunger - - -". Allah or nature + work in reality? See 11/7a above.
