Allah in the Quran, Chapter 56

Chapter 56

001 The formal taboos mainly are food taboos. The main food taboos are the taboo against eating pork, blood, meat from animals found dead, meat from animals choked or gored to death, meat from donkey (this taboo is from Hadiths, not from the Quran), and meat over which the name of another god than Allah has been mentioned. The two best known of these taboos, the ones against pork and blood, both are enigmas, because both are good and high quality food. As for pork Muslims often claim the reason must have been to guard against trichinosis, but all it takes to hinder that illness, is to fry or boil the meat well - that kills the parasite causing the illness. Another possible explanation is that pigs to a large degree eat food also humans can eat - unlike cows, sheep, goats, etc. In poor areas the leaders because of that may have found that pork was too expensive meat and put a taboo on it. As for blood the reason may have been that in many societies one believed life was in the blood - lose too much blood and you die - and the taboo may have come for superstitious reasons. This taboo really is a bit funny, because there always will be blood left in the meat - just the same blood - but this is not taboo. Muhammad did not make these taboos (except perhaps the one against meat from donkeys) - like so much else he just took them over from the old pagan Arab religion.

002 One thing: There are non-Muslims who think it is great to cheat Muslims to eat f.x. pork. But why? A Muslim who honestly believes it is something else - or is forced to eat it for some reason - makes no sin. Muslims may well believe in a pagan, made up religion, but so do many others (it is pretty sure that the majority of the gods people different places believe in, do not exist). But the majority of the Muslims are as human as you and me, and there is no reason for insulting them in such ways - insults which on top of all is meaningless, and also tells nothing about them, but only about you.

003 In addition to these taboos, there are several things which are prohibited or strongly prohibited. These also are taboos, even if that word normally is not used in these connections. We quote a few such points, but if you read the Quran, you will find many more.

Finally: Always when you read the Quran, Hadiths, and other Islamic books, you should remember that Muhammad accepted the use of and himself used dishonesty in many forms in words and deeds. Even if the names are younger, it was he who institutionalized dishonesty like al-Taqiyya (the lawful lie), Kitman (the lawful half-truth), Hilah (the lawful pretending/circumventing), the use of deceit ("war is deceit" - and "everything" is war), betrayal (f.x. the peace delegation from Khaybar), and even the disuse of oaths (2/225, 5/89, 16/91, 66/2 - and the star case 3/54 (if Allah could cheat, cheating is ok)), which also includes the disuse of words and promises, as they are weaker than oaths = when oaths can be disused, so can words and promises. On top of this it is very clear from the Quran and all other central Islamic books, that Muhammad also liked respect and power and women. Combine these lusts with his acceptance of and personal use of dishonesty - even the gravest kinds: How reliable is that kind of men normally? - and how true and reliable are their never proved claims and tales?

¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤

004 2/173a: “He (Allah*) hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the meat of swine, and that on which another name hath been invoked besides that of Allah”. Wrong. You also are forbidden to eat meat from animals you kill by strangulation, or such which are gored to death, and Hadiths – f.x. Al-Bukhari - very clearly prohibits you from eating meat from donkey.

005 2/173b: “He (Allah*) hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the meat of swine, (etc.*) - - -". Contradiction: In the NT these prohibitions are lifted (f.x. Mark 7/19). One more indication for that Yahweh and Allah are not the same god - and one more proof for that Jesus and Muhammad did not belong to the same religion.

006 2/173c: "- - - the flesh of swine - - -". This is the most well known prohibited food in Islam. You will meet a lot of fast talk about why, but the plain truth is that nobody knows why. The most common guess is sickness/trichinosis. Another is that as pigs to a degree eat human food, leaders in the old found them too expensive and had a taboo put on them. Still another is that pigs like to wallow in mud (to cool themselves down), and thus is dirty food. Still another that meat from pig once was used in religious ceremonies and became holy, and thus a taboo for man. But nobody really knows.

007 4/24b: “Also (prohibited (for Muslims to marry*) are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess (= slave women*) - - -“. Guess if permission to marry an already married slave woman is contradicted by the NT! In the Bible, and especially in NT the marriage is sacred. Actually this "small detail" represents such a strong collision of fundamental principles in the two books, that this difference alone proves that Yahweh and Allah is not the same god. And then there are all the other proofs in addition.

Also see 67/9c below - a strong one. But of course it is ok for Islam to prove - prove - the Bible wrong and the Quran right. But as we say: Prove, not just loose claims and as loose and invalid words like the Quran always use instead of proofs.

008 5/1f: “Lawful (as food*) for you (Muslims*) are all four-footed animals, with the exceptions named (he Quran mentions some food taboos): but animals of the chase are forbidden while ye are in the Sacred Precincts or in pilgrim grab: for Allah command according to his Will and Plan". Background for the sharia laws.

009 5/1g: "- - - but animals of the chase are forbidden while ye are in the Sacred Precincts or in pilgrim grab: for Allah command according to his Will and Plan". There is nothing similar in the Bible. In itself it only is an indication for that Yahweh and Allah are not the same god, but as Allah(?) strengthens the prohibition by stressing that it is according to his will and Plan, whereas Yahweh does not care enough to even mention it, it becomes one of the many proofs for that the two are not the same god.

010 5/2c: "- - - Sacred Month - - -". A tradition - one of many - taken over from the old Pagan times in Arabia. No other of the large religions have such holy months - funny how many things the pagan old Arabs had correct, but nobody else, according to Allah. There were 4 such months (numbers 1, 7, 11, 12), when f.x. fighting and war was not permitted - but the Muslims broke it at least once. Muhammad afterwards - like normal - got a "revelation" which sanctified the breaking. By the way: Hajj - pilgrimage - is in month number 12, but beware that the Muslim year is a little - ca. 11 days - shorter than the natural year, and thus it wanders along the normal year over a period of ca. 33 years. 100 normal years = ca. 103 Muslim years. (As the expression here is in singular, the book just here may indicate the month of pilgrimage only.)

011 5/2k: "- - - the Sacred Precincts - - -." The holy area in connection to the Kabah mosque in Mecca. Never mentioned in the Bible.

012 5/3b: “Forbidden to you (Muslims*) (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine - - -.” This is abrogated by Sunna (Hadith) by enlarging the list of prohibitions, as Muhammad made a very clear rule during the siege of Khaybar in 628 AD: Meat of donkey is forever forbidden to eat. Remember: Also to make a rule of law stricter is an abrogation – the god had to try and fail to find the best laws. Or he forgot or changed his mind. That Sunna abrogates the Quran, is not the normal rule, but far from unheard of (veils for women are f.x. not introduced in the Quran – but is so in some Hadiths). A more special case here is that this verse was abrogated (by being made stricter) before it was released in 632 AD. The main rule is that the youngest verse abrogates the older one(s), but after a hard debate in the old times Islam agreed on that in some cases the older one can abrogate the younger - - - and as far as we have been able to find out, the prohibition against eating donkey meat still stands (if we are wrong here, we would appreciate very much to be corrected). Also see 6/145a+b below.

One small point here: Some ones think it is fun or that they make a point by cheating Muslims - or Jews - to eat forbidden food, f.x. meat from pig. This just is to be impolite and unfriendly - and for no reason, as if they are cheated or forced to eat it, it is no sin neither for Muslims, nor for Jews.

013 5/3l: "But if anyone is forced by hunger, with no intention to transgression, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful". One small point to be repeated here: Some ones think it is fun or that they make a point by cheating Muslims - or Jews - to eat forbidden food, f.x. meat from pig. This just is to be impolite and unfriendly - and for no reason, as if they are cheated or forced to eat it, it is no sin neither for Muslims, nor for Jews.

014 5/62a: “- - - eating of things forbidden.” See 5/42c above. The Quran has food taboos - and some others.

015 5/95b: "Kill not game while in the Sacred Precinct or in pilgrim garb - - -". There is nothing like this in the Bible. The Bible also does not demand pilgrimage or pilgrim garb. As the pilgrimage - hajj - is fundamental to Allah and Islam, this is one more 100% proof for that Yahweh and Allah are not the same god. And then there are all the other proofs, indicia and indications.

016 5/96b: "- - - forbidden is the pursuit of land-game - as long as you (Muslims*) are in the Sacred Precinct or in pilgrim garb". See 5/95b above.

This is not from the Bible.

017 6/121: "Eat not of (meats) on which Allah's name hath not been pronounced: that would be impiety." Contradicted and abrogated 11 years later (632 AD) by 5/5: "The food of the People of the Book (here the Bible = Jews and Christians*) is lawful unto you - - -". (Though of course you can say or think the name of Allah yourself).

018 9/5i: "- - - the forbidden months - - -". The old Arabs had 4 holy months a year (numbers 1, 7, 11, and 12). Muhammad took them into Islam. A clear Arabism. There is nothing similar in the Bible.

019 16/115a: “He (Allah*) has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked”. Wrong. Hadiths – f.x. Al-Bukhari and Muslim – are very clear on the fact that also meat from donkey is forbidden. (This is one of the cases where Hadiths abrogate the Quran. Perhaps Allah forgot that donkey meat was forbidden in the Mother Book, or Muhammad forgot to mention it?)

020 23/6b: “(Good Muslims*) abstain from sex except with those joined to them in marriage bonds, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess (= slave women*) – for (in their case) they are free from blame - - -:” To rape captive women and slave women was/is completely ok (with one exception; it was prohibited if they were pregnant – but most likely not if they were pregnant with your child). Take a woman captive in a “holy” war – and anything was named “holy war” – jihad - as long as the victims were non-Muslims, not to mention if they were Pagans – and you could freely rape her with Allah’s blessing, because it was “good and lawful”. And even slave raids theoretically could be defined as holy war - “jihad” - as the victims were non-Muslims, and all the 4 Islamic law schools accepted the fact that the "enemies" were non-Muslims as "bona fide" reason for declaring jihad. It was – and is (rape is very common in armed conflicts where Muslims are involved) – a nice life for the warriors. But it tells something about both Islam and some Muslims - something ugly.

F.x. during the Bangladeshi war of freedom it is officially estimated that the Pakistani soldiers made 200ooo babies by raping women and children, we were told somewhat shamefacedly and somewhat angry in Bangladesh - MUSLIM women and children. And to make 200ooo babies one needs may be 30 times as many rapes (only 10-20% of women are in the "dangerous" period at a given time + multiple rapes over a few moths only give maximum one pregnancy + many rapes do not give pregnancy even in the "dangerous" period + rape of too young and of children do not give pregnancy). This is modern Islamic culture and moral codes.

We must add, though, that some said that the correct number was some 200ooo raped women, not 200ooo children made. But even 200ooo raped women - Muslim women! - tell something ugly about Islam's moral and judicial codes - and about their points of view concerning women and girls children./p>

"Unlawful" sex is taboo - - - but the rules for what is "lawful" is a lot wider than in normal religions, as you f.x. can rape any female child or woman who is your captive - and Islam's moral idol, Muhammad, did so himself. Neither the Quran nor Islam has a minimum age of sex with/rape of children, and from 9 years old it definitely is morally ok, because Muhammad started sex with Aishah when she was 9. (No human child is sexually mature at 9.)
