1000+ Comments on the Quran: Surah 88 -- AL-GHASHIYAH (The Overwhelming Event)

Revelation: Mecca, 614 - 618 AD

(See general comments on Surahs here: Introduction)

The quotes and comments

001 "In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful". Please read the surahs from Medina, the immoral parts of the Muslim moral code, the unjust/immoral parts of sharia, and the Quran's rules for lying, thieving/looting, enslaving, raids and wars, plus the rules for treatment of girls and women - free and captured - and see if you agree. Always when there is a distance between words and corresponding demands and deeds, we personally believe in the demands and deeds. Glorious words are cheap, demands and deeds are reliable. Glorifying words and claims are too cheap for anyone to use and disuse - when you read, judge from realities, not from propaganda.

002 88/1: "- - - the overwhelming (Event) - - -". The Day of Doom.

003 88/2a: "Some faces - - - will be humiliated - - -". The non-Muslim's ones.

004 88/2b: "- - - that Day - - -". The Day of Doom.

005 88/4: "- - - the Blazing Fire - - -". Hell.

006 88/5: "- - - while they (non-Muslims*) are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring". Hell is not only Hell, but pure torture and sadism.

007 88/6: “No food will there be for them (the “infidels” in Hell*) but a bitter dari (a dry bush with needles*) - - -.” Also in Hell, one need food and drink. But:

37/66: “- - - they (the “infidels” in Hell*) will eat thereof (the disgusting fruits of the zaqqum tree in Hell*) and fill their bellies therewith.” But there is also another small contradiction:

69/36: “Nor hat he (the “infidel” in Hell*) any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds”.

(2 contradictions.)

008 88/8a: "(Other) facts that Day will be joyful - - -". = the Muslims.

009 88/8b: "- - - that Day - - -". The Day of Doom.

010 88/10: "In Gardens on high - - -". The Quran's and Islam's paradise - see 10/9f above.

011 88/10-16: “In the Garden of high, where they (Muslims in Paradise*) shall hear no (word) of vanity: Therein will be a bubbling spring: Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised high, goblets (for wine*) placed (ready), and cushions set in rows, and rich carpets (all) spread out.” A nice picture – except when you think of hundreds of millions of people, each bound to his own clan as the son of a son of a son - - - etc., placed like that. Endless rows - or crowds - only. Some paradise.

012 88/13: "- - - Thrones (of dignity), raised high - - -". When there are rows upon rows upon rows to give place for hundreds of millions of good Muslims throughout the times, there is no dignity in thrones any more, only parody.

013 88/14: "- - - Goblets placed (ready) - - -". As mentioned before, the Paradise of Muhammad is like what a primitive uneducated warrior could be able to dream Earth-like top luxury could be.

014: 88/15-16: "- - - cushions set in rows, and rich carpets (all) spread out". 88/10-16, 88/13 and 88/14 above.

015 88/17: (A88/5): “Do they (the non-Muslims*) not look at the Camels, how they are made?” But the Arab word for camel – “ibil” – also means “clouds bearing rain-water”. Then you get the meaning from exactly the same text and an absolutely correct interpretation: “Do, then, they (who deny resurrection) never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, (and observe) how they are created?” Well, sometimes to study the Quran is funny. But a language so clear and distinct that it is a proof in itself for being written by a god??

016 88/18: "And the Sky, how it was raised high?" Wrong. The sky was never raised.

017 88/20: “And at the earth, how it is spread out?” – the flat Earth is indicated again. There is no place in the Quran directly said that Earth is flat - it seems to have been so obvious that it was not necessary to even mention. But everything Earth is compared to, is something flat, and there is no doubt that in the Quran the Earth is flat - this even more so as in Hadiths it is made clearer. See 79/30 and others above.

018 87/21: "- - - admonition - - -". Admonition on basis of a book full of errors and not from a god?!

019 88/22a: “Thou (Muhammad*) art not to manage (men’s) (religious*) affairs - - -.” One more verse that was abrogated of the more powerful Muhammad – or Allah – later. This verse is contradicted and often “killed” by at least these verses: 2/191, 2/193, 3/28, 3/85, 3/148, 4/81, 4/90, 5/33, 5/72, 5/73, 8/12, 8/38-39 (the warning), 8/39, 8/60, 9/3, 9/5, 9/14, 9/23, 9/29, 9/33, 9/73, 9/123, 25/36, 25/52, 33/61, 33/73, 35/36, 47/4, 66/9. This includes many advising or permitting political, social, economical, etc. compulsion (with the sword in the background if you protest) – we mention a few here: 3/28, 3/85, 3/148, 4/81, 5/72, 5/73, 9/23, 14/7, 15/3, 33/73, 35/36. They are all quoted under 2/256. (At least 29 contradictions).

020 88/22b: “Thou (Muhammad*) art not to manage (men’s) (religious*) affairs - - -.” One more verse that was abrogated of the more powerful Muhammad – or Allah – later. This verse is abrogated – made invalid - by at least these verses: 2/191, 2/193, 3/38, 3/85, 3/148, 4/90, 5/33, 5/72, 8/12, 8/38, 8/38-39 (the warning), 8/39, 8/60, 9/3, 9/5, 9/14, 9/23, 9/29, 9/33, 9/73, 9/123, 25/36, 25/52, 33/61, 33/73, 35/36, 47/4, 66/9. This includes many bloody threats, but also verses advising or permitting political, social, economical, etc. compulsion (with the sword in the background if you protest) – we mention a few here: 3/28, 3/85, 3/148, 4/81, 5/72, 5/73, 9/23, 14/7, 15/3, 33/73, 35/36. They are all quoted under 2/256. (At least 28 abrogations).

021 88/23-24: "But if any turn away and reject Allah - Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment". This early (614 - 618 AD) it was for Allah to punish. But when Muhammad grew enough powerful, he too started to force and punish.

022 88/24: "- - - a mighty Punishment". See 3/77b above.

023 88/25a: "- - - to Us (Allah*) will be their Return (at the Day of Doom*)- - -". Often claimed, never proved - and also not possible if Allah does not exist and/or is not a major god, neither of which also never is proved.

024 88/25b: "- - - to Us (Allah*) will be their Return (at the Day of Doom*)- - -". Contradicted by the Bible, which says they will return to Yahweh on the Day of Doom, not to Allah. Also see 67/9c above - a strong one. But of course it is ok for Islam to prove - prove - the Bible wrong and the Quran right. But as we say: Prove, not just loose claims and as loose and invalid words like the Quran always use instead of proofs.

025 88/26a: "Then (at the Day of Doom*) it will be for Us to call them to account". See 88/23-24 above.

026 88/26b: "Then (at the Day of Doom*) it will be for Us to call them to account".
