1000+ Comments on the Quran: Surah 86 -- AT-TARIQ (The Night-Visitant)

Revelation: Mecca, 614 AD

(See general comments on Surahs here: Introduction)

The quotes and comments

001 "In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful". Please read the surahs from Medina, the immoral parts of the Muslim moral code, the unjust/immoral parts of sharia, and the Quran's rules for lying, thieving/looting, enslaving, raids and wars, plus the rules for treatment of girls and women - free and captured - and see if you agree. Always when there is a distance between words and corresponding demands and deeds, we personally believe in the demands and deeds. Glorious words are cheap, demands and deeds are reliable. Glorifying words and claims are too cheap for anyone to use and disuse - when you read, judge from realities, not from propaganda.

002 86/1a: "By - - -". Here Allah/Muhammad swears - another very clear proof for that Yahweh and Allah are not the same god, and for that Jesus and Muhammad is not in the same line of anything of any consequence: The NT very clearly states that you shall not swear at all (Matt 5/34), and it is clear that if you do so all the same, you have to honor your oath, whereas in the Quran you can break any oath if that gives a better result - pay expiation if necessary (but to be fair: The Quran advises not to break a confirmed oath (!) if there is not a good reason. To break other oaths matters little.)

003 86/1b: (A86/1): “By (indicating an oath*) the sky and the Night-Visitant (therein) - - -.” But the Arab word “at-tariq” (= “that which comes in the night”), derived from the verb “taraqa”, is a most vague one. Muslim scholars have interpreted it also like “the morning star”, “the stars”, “heavenly solace”, “the sudden, intuitive enlightenment”. And if you search, you may find more. Yes, a clear and distinct language in the Quran.

004 86/1+4: "By the Sky - - - There is no soul but has a protector over it". Sentences in the Quran starting with ”by” normally are an oath - the Quran/Muhammad is swearing by something. But whenever Muhammad or the Quran swears - or in other ways promises - remember that according to the rules for al-Taqiyya (the lawful lie) and Kitman (the lawful half-truth), it is permitted to lie to defend and to forward Islam (and for 6 other topics), and that according to Muhammad's own words and deeds in the Quran, oaths should be broken if that will give a more satisfying result - pay expiation to Allah afterwards if necessary.

005 86/3: (YA6068): “- - - the Star of piercing brightness - - “. Here Islam is guessing again. The Morning Star? Saturn? Sirius? The Pleiades? Shooting stars? It is not possible to know what the Quran means here - indistinct language.

006 86/4: "There is no soul but has a protector over it". According to the Quran every human have angels near by. Worth remembering each time Muhammad tells Allah cannot send down angels to prove himself or to prove his connection to Muhammad, because sending down angels means that the Day of Doom has arrived.

007 86/6: “He (man*) is created from a drop (of sperm*) emitted - - -”. See 80/19 + 6/2.

**008 86/6+7: “He (man*) is created from a drop (of sperm*) emitted - Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs.” Glorious: Muhammad did not even know that sperm comes from the testes - the “stones” - and placed the source inside the body and half a meter too high up!!!! And a place where it is too hot for production of semen. (The testes are in scrotum outside the main body because it needs slightly under body temperature to be able to produce semen). It is in accordance with Greek medicine – Hippocrates f.x. thought the sperm passed through the kidneys. Even a baby god knows better. Who composed the Quran? And what is Islam – and it’s Muslims - if the Quran is faked?

*009 86/6+7: “He (man*) is created from a drop emitted (semen*) - Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs”. The minor thing is that it is not tested whether it is nature or Allah that creates babies. Worse: Man is not made from semen, but from 2 different cells. Much worse: The Quran does not know from where the semen originates. Muhammad may have believed it came from the upper part of the abdomen - wrong "knowledge" he got from old Greek science - but any - even half god - had known better. Is this a proof for that Allah is not involved, as he does not know what he is talking about? The danger of bluffing always is to be discovered. And that leaves no credibility. (It f.x. is not possible to believe that an omniscient god has created a book with this many mistakes and invalid - even directly wrong - “signs” and “proofs”.)

010 86/8a: "Surely - - -". See f.x. 81/19a above.

011 86/8b: "Surely (Allah*) is able to bring him (a person*) back to life". Once more this interesting claim - interesting because Allah never one single time has proved he has this power, whereas if the Quran or the Bible tells the truth on this point, Yahweh has done so several times (f.x. 1. Kings 17/22, 2. Kings 4/34-35, Mark 5/41, John 11/44, Luke 7/15, Matt 27/52,Acts 9/40, Acts 20/10, the Quran 4/110i). And we remind you that the never proved Islamic claim that Allah = Yahweh is not true (the teachings fundamentally too different), and that science - and even more so Islam - has proved that the Bible is not falsified. Also see 7/158i above.

012 86/9: "The Day - - -". The Day of Doom.

013 86/11a: "By the Firmament - - -". Muhammad/Allah swearing again. See 86/1a above.

014 86/11b: "- - - the Firmament - - -". The sky - mostly used about the night sky.

015 86/12: "- - - by the Earth - - -". Muhammad/Allah swearing once more. See 86/1a above.

016 86/13a: "- - - the Word - - -". The Quran in this case.

017 86/13b: "- - - (good from Evil) - - -". Beware that when the Quran uses expressions like this, it is in accordance with its own partly immoral moral code.

018 86/13c: "- - - this (the Quran*) is the Word that distinguishes (good from Evil)." Some claims do not need a comment.

019 86/14: "It (the Quran*) is not a thing for amusement". Some of the mistakes and some other points really are unintended jokes. But remembering all the blood and misery Islam has cost and will cost in the future, for Muslims and non-Muslims, the wish to laugh disappears.

####020 86/16:** "And I (Allah*) am planning a scheme". This is one of the verses behind the dishonesty in Islam - al-Taqiyya (the lawful lie), Kitman (the lawful half-truth) - not to mention "war is deceit" and "break your oath if that will give a better result" - and pay expiation in bad cases. (f.x. 2/225a (thoughtless oaths),5/89a+b (expiation for deliberate oaths), 16/91e (oaths are not a problem less you confirm them, then you should not break them (expiation is necessary in case)), 66/2a (the dissolution of your oaths (the translator has added "in some cases"), and the star case in 3/54 - If Allah can deceive, there of course is nothing immoral in doing so if there is a reason. And this view on deceit existed in Islam at least as early as in 614 AD when this surah is dated. Also see 2/26h, 3/54, 4/142a, 8/30, 10/21b, 13/42a, and 27/50 above.

Just for the record: Al-Taqiyya and Kitman can be used at least in these cases (for broken oaths there are given no real limitations if the broken oath will give a better result. By implication this also goes for ordinary promises, as an oath is something stronger than a normal promise):

To save your or others' health or life.

To get out of a tight spot or a dangerous problem.

To make peace in a family.

When it will give a better result than honesty or honoring one’s oath.

To cheat women (should be remembered by girls with Muslim boyfriends wanting sex - or wanting a marriage to get residence permit in a rich country.)

To deceive opponents/enemies.

To betray enemies.

To secure one’s money (very clear from Hadiths).

To defend Islam. (Compulsory if necessary to succeed.)

To promote Islam. (Compulsory if necessary to succeed.)

But al-Taqiyya is a double-edged sword: In the short run you may cheat and deceive some ones – actually also in the long run if the opposite part does not know about this side of Muslims and of Islam, or if he/she is naïve.

021 86/17a: “Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: give a respite to them gently (for a while)”. This is in 614 AD. The sound grew more sinister from 622 AD on: This verse is contradicted and often “killed” by at least these verses: 2/191, 2/193, 3/28, 3/85, 3/148, 4/81, 4/90, 5/33, 5/72, 5/73, 8/12, 8/38-39 (the warning), 8/39, 8/60, 9/3, 9/5, 9/14, 9/23, 9/29, 9/33, 9/73, 9/123, 25/36, 25/52, 33/61, 33/73, 35/36, 47/4, 66/9. This includes many advising or permitting political, social, economical, etc. compulsion (with the sword in the background if you protest) – we mention a few here: 3/28, 3/85, 3/148, 4/81, 5/72, 5/73, 9/23, 14/7, 15/3, 33/73, 35/36. They are all quoted under 2/256. (At least 29 contradictions).

022 86/17b: “Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: give respite to them gently (for a while)”. Guess if this one from 614 AD was abrogated when Muhammad grew more powerful!! This verse is abrogated – made invalid - by at least these verses: 2/191, 2/193, 3/38, 3/85, 3/148, 4/90, 5/33, 5/72, 8/12, 8/38, 8/38-39 (the warning), 8/39, 8/60, 9/3, 9/5, 9/14, 9/23, 9/29, 9/33, 9/73, 9/123, 25/36, 25/52, 33/61, 33/73, 35/36, 47/4, 66/9. This includes many bloody threats, but also verses advising or permitting political, social, economical, etc. compulsion (with the sword in the background if you protest) – we mention a few here: 3/28, 3/85, 3/148, 4/81, 5/72, 5/73, 9/23, 14/7, 15/3, 33/73, 35/36. They are all quoted under 2/256. (At least 28 abrogations).

023 86/17c: "- - - Unbelievers - - -". One of Muhammad's many negative names for non-Muslims.
