1000+ Comments on the Quran: Surah 71 -- NUH (Noah)

Revelation: Mecca, 621 - 622 AD

(See general comments on Surahs here: Introduction)

The quotes and comments

001 "In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful". Please read the surahs from Medina, the immoral parts of the Muslim moral code, the unjust/immoral parts of sharia, and the Quran's rules for lying, thieving/looting, enslaving, raids and wars, plus the rules for treatment of girls and women - free and captured - and see if you agree. Always when there is a distance between words and corresponding demands and deeds, we personally believe in the demands and deeds. Glorious words are cheap, demands and deeds are reliable. Glorifying words and claims are too cheap for anyone to use and disuse - when you read, judge from realities, not from propaganda.

002 71/1a: "We (Allah*) sent Noah - - -". Contradicted by the Bible: According to the Bible this was done by Yahweh, not by Allah. Also see 67/9c above - a strong one. But of course it is ok for Islam to prove - prove - the Bible wrong and the Quran right. But as we say: Prove, not just loose claims and as loose and invalid words like the Quran always use instead of proofs.

003 71/1b: "- - - Noah - - -". A historical anomaly.

004 71/1c: "- - - a grievous Penalty". See 3/77b above.

005 71/1-20: Like Muhammad at this time (621 - 622 AD), Noah (and other claimed prophets Muhammad told about) had limited success - just like Muhammad. "Ergo" Muhammad was a normal prophet with normal problems. True? More or less all claimed and real prophets in the Quran were parallels to Muhammad at the time when the different surahs were told - just read the Quran with open eyes, and you will see this. We may add that even though the story roughly follows the Bible, the details are very different. As they are not from the Bible and not from a god - no book with so much wrong like the Quran is from any god - where did Muhammad get them from?

006 71/2a: "O my (Noah's*) People!" I am to you a Warner, clear and open - - -". Exactly Muhammad's own words. See 71/1-20 just above.

007 71/2b: "O my (Noah's*) People!" A historical anomaly.

008 71/3a: "- - - worship Allah - - -". Contradicted by the Bible, which says the god of Noah was Yahweh, not Allah.

009 71/3b: "- - - fear Him (Allah*) and obey me (Noah*) - - -". This was one of Muhammad's demands, and then it was good psychology that other claimed prophets said the same - in the Quran even Jesus says this, even though he normally just said "follow me", not "obey me", according to NT. Also see 71/1-20 above.

010 71/4a: "So He (Allah*) may forgive - - -". There only are 2 who can forgive: The victim and a god. This thus only can be true if Allah exists and in addition is a god (not f. x. something from dark forces pretending to be a god, like parts of the Quran and parts of its moral code may indicate).

011 71/4b:: "- - - sins - - -". Beware that when the Quran uses words like this, it is in accordance with its own partly immoral moral code. We also may mention that just this word often covers very different deeds, acts, words, and thoughts in the Quran and Islam, than in more normal religions (Islam is a religion of war - in spite of its loud slogans), not to mention how much its meaning in the Quran often differs from the basic of all human moral; "do against others like you want others do against you". Read the surahs from Medina and weep.

One small remark: As Yahweh's religion and f.x. moral code at many points are totally different from Allah's, you may qualify for Yahweh's Paradise even if Muslims condemn you to Hell - if both exist. One more of the 100% proofs for that Yahweh and Allah are not the same god.

012 71/4c: "- - - for a stated Term - - -". = For the term Allah has predestined.

013 71/4d: "- - - when the Term given by God (here Allah*) is accomplished, it cannot be put forward" When Allah has predestined something and made it part of his Plan, nothing and nobody can change it - what Allah has predestined, cannot be changed.. (Then why f.x. prayers, as nothing can change his predestinations according to the Quran?)

As for the value of prayers in Islam, also see 62/9c. And if you combine 62/9c with 67/9c - a strong one - you get something thought-provoking. (And relevant here: Muslims often are thought that a question or problem can have 2 or more true and correct solutions - Islam is forced to teach this, because if not, many of the mistakes and contradictions in the Quran become too obvious. But this ONLY is true if parallel true solutions are possible. In cases where 2 or more possible solutions are mutually excluding each other, maximum 1 of the mutually excluding ones can be true. It should be a bit thought provoking for Muslims, that just this "small" difference in theoretical thinking and teaching, was one of the reasons (there were several of course) for why Europe and the West exploded into the Technical Revolution, while the Muslim area stagnated). Two star examples are: 1) Full predestination is not possible even for an omnipotent god to combine with even the smallest piece of free will for man - the two are mutually excluding. The same for full and unchangeable predestination long time before, combined with any claimed effect of prayers - the two are mutually excluding each other.)

014 71/4e: "- - - if they (non-Muslims*) only knew". But that was just what many of them did - knew that something was seriously wrong in Muhammad's preaching.

015 71/5: "He (Noah*) said - - -". A historical anomaly.

016 *71/6: “- - - (the non-Muslim’s*) flight (from the Right (Islam*)).” Can a religion building on (a book similar to) the Quran with all its mistakes, contradictions, etc., be the right one? See 13/1g and 40/75. There is good reason for doubt. And if Islam is a made up religion like so many others - what then with all Muslims if there exists another religion which is right and there is a next world? - - - and they are blocked from looking for it.

017 71/7a: "- - - that Thou (Allah*) mightest forgive them(non-Muslims*) - - -". There only are 2 who can forgive - the victim and a god. Then this is wrong unless Allah exists and is a god.(Remember here that it is no sin to doubt Allah the god, if he is no god.)

018 71/7b: "- - - they (opponents of Noah*) have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance". How could this reliably be written in the claimed "Mother Book" (of which the Quran is a copy according to Muhammad) billions of years before it was said or happened? One more of the many texts or quotes in the Quran which could not have been reliably written into the claimed "Mother Book" (13/39b, 43/4b+c, 85/21-22) in Heaven (of which the Quran is claimed to be a copy) eons ago, unless predestination was and is 100% like the Quran claims many places (if you look, you will find more cases than we mention - we only mention some of the obvious ones). If man has free will - even partly only (an expression some Muslims use to flee from the problem full predestination contra free will for man (and also contra that there is no meaning in praying to Allah for help, if everything already is predestined in accordance with a plan "nobody and nothing can change" - a problem which Muslims seldom mention), and an expression no Muslim we have met has ever defined) - and can change his mind, full and reliable clairvoyance about the future, not to mention the distant future, is impossible even for a god, as the man always could/can change his mind or his words once more, in spite of Islam's claims. There are at least 3 reasons - 2 of them unavoidable - for this:

When something is changed, automatically the future is changed.

The laws of chaos will be at work and change things, if even a tiny part is made different.

The so-called "Butterfly Effect"; "a butterfly flapping its wing in Brazil may cause a storm in China later on" or "a small bump may overturn a big load".

This that Allah predestines everything like the Quran claims and states many places, is an essential point, because besides totally removing the free will of man (in spite of the Quran's claims of such free will, or some Muslims' adjusted "partly free will for man" - to adjust the meanings where the texts in the Quran are wrong, is typical for Islam and its Muslims) - it also removes the moral behind Allah's punishing (and rewarding) persons for what they say and do - Allah cannot reward or punish people for things he himself has forced them to say or do, and still expect to be believed when he (Muhammad?) claims to be a good or benevolent or moral or just god. Also see 2/51b and 3/24a above.

And as mentioned above, full predestination also makes prayers to Allah meaningless, as everything already is predestined according to Allah's Plan - a Plan which no prayer ("nobody and nothing") can change.

Also see 3/154e, 6/149a, 7/34a, 14/22b, and not least 27/22-26 above.

019 71/7c: (YA5710): “- - - (non-Muslims*) cover themselves up with their garments - - -.” But is it literally or figuratively meant here? – vanities, evil habits, customs, traditions, and their ephemeral interests and standards? It is anybody’s guess.

020 71/8: "- - -I (Noah*) - - -". A historical anomaly.

021 71/9: "Further I (Noah*) have spoken to them (his claimed opponents*)in public and on private - - -". Not from the Bible, but very parallel to Muhammad's own experience till then (he did not get many followers until after he started as a robber baron and got riches to offer and became more powerful). See 71/1-20 above.

022 71/10a: "Ask forgiveness from your (peoples'*) Lord (Allah*) - - -". See 71/4a above.

023 71/10b: "- - - He (Allah*)is Oft-Forgiving". Please read the surahs from Medina, the immoral parts of the Muslim moral code, and the unjust/immoral parts of sharia, and see if you agree. Always when there is a distance between words and corresponding demands, introduced rules and deeds, we always believe in the demands, introduced rules and deeds - words are too cheap to use and disuse.

024 Also Allah cannot forgive anyone unless he exists and is a god.

025 71/11: "He (Allah*) will send rain to you in abundance - - -". See 11/7a above - plus this is one of the Arabisms in the Quran - only in dry countries rain is a top favor.

026 71/12a: "- - - wealth and sons - - -". Sons were a central kind of wealth for Muhammad - - - and the problem is that it still is for many Muslims in a time where the world is being overcrowded (Muslim clergy also weight lay that if Muslims get many more children than non-Muslims in mixed areas, Muslims in the end will be able to take over the power in the country).

027 71/12b: "- - - bestow on you rivers (of flowing water) - - -". The most frequently used Arabism in the Quran. Muhammad overlooked that if Noah and his people lived in the south of Iraq like one believe (if he is not fiction), they may have had plenty of water (the Euphrates and the Tigris).

028 71/13a: "What is the matter with you (non-Muslims*), that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah - - -". The matter is that we do not believe Allah exists, and if he exists, he at least is no god - the errors, etc. in the Quran proves 100% or more that something is seriously wrong with the Quran, with Muhammad and hence with Islam. The people of Noah may have understood the same if Noah preached Islam. (Something which is contradicted by the bible, For one thing the Bible does not tell about Noah as a man trying to be a missionary for his religion. For another all these details are not from the Bible at all - from where are they as they are not from a god (no god vas ever involved in a book of a quality similar to the Quran)? And for a third: According to the Bible Noah's god was Yahweh, not Allah.

029 71/13b: (YA5713A): “- - - place - - - your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah.” But another meaning of the same original Arab text is: “- - - that ye fear Allah’s message”. Clear?

030 71/13c: "What is the matter with you (non-Muslims*), that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah - - -". Read 1/1a above and see what hopes there in reality is for kindness - perhaps with the exception of the possibility of becoming rich by stealing from others or by destroying their lives. That is what is the matter with us.

031 71/14a: "Seeing that it is He (Allah*) who has created you - - -". I do not see that - not without very strong proofs. This is typical technique from Muhammad: Pretending that a starting point (here that Allah has created) is true and proved, and then making deductions from that. But as long as the starting point is not proved, it has nothing to do with logical deduction - but such technique often is used by cheaters, swindlers, charlatans, deceivers, etc. to cheat people. And you frequently meet this technique also from Islam and from Muslims.

032 71/14b: "- - - He (Allah*) who has created you in diverse stages". This is old Greek and perhaps Persian zoology and physiology - f.x. the great Greek thinker Galen thought a fetus was made in stages, and this - as you see from this verse in the Quran - was what was correct science in Arabia, too, at the time of Muhammad. Any god had known that the making of a fetus is a continual process.

###033 71/15a: “- - - Allah has created the seven heavens one above another - - -”. Wrong - it hardly is possible to be more wrong as there are no 7 heavens. But you find these claims about 7 heavens/firmaments/tracts in 2/29d+e, 17/44a, 23/17a, 23/86a, 41/12a+b, 65/12a, 67/3a+b and 71/15a+b - all together the Quran mentions "heavens" in plural at least 199 times; there is no doubt the Quran means there are 7 heavens (and as the stars are fastened to the lowermost of them - f. x. 67/5a - they have to be material ones - if not the stars could not be fastened to it). In 67/3 you also are told they are places one above the other, which means they of course are built successively higher above the Earth - which also is clear from most places in the Quran where the place of the heavens are indicated. Some modern Muslims try to place the heavens in space, deep space included. But among others 67/3 prohibits this, as "up" and "down" ("one above the other") has no meaning as part of the real space.

By the way: 65/12b also claims there are 7 Earths, and gives their names according to Islam. Also see 67/5d above.

034 71/15b: "- - - seven heavens - - -". There are no 7 heavens - - - but the claim is in accordance with the wrong Greek and Persian astronomy one believed in at that time - a fact no Muslim ever mention. (One observed 7 movements on the firmament - the stars, the sun and the moon, plus Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn (the other planets were not visible to the naked eye) - and thus needed 7 invisible heavens to fasten them to, to explain why they did not fall down on Earth. Any - any - god had known better. Then who made the Quran?

035 71/15-16a: “- - - Allah has created the seven (material - see the Mega Mistakes*) heavens, one above the other - - -.” It is not possible to be more wrong. Who above 3. grade primary school needs a comment here? 7 (material) heavens and the moon in between them somewhere (and remember the stars are fixed to the lowest heaven, so they are below the moon!” We do not bother to comment this. But also see 67/5d above.

036 71/15-16b: “- - - Allah has created the seven (material- see the Mega Mistakes*) heavens, one above the other, and made the moon a light in their midst - - -.” The moon is in between them somewhere (and remember the stars are fixed to the lowest heaven, so they are below the moon!)!! We do not bother to comment this - except that the moon is not behind and beyond the stars. If the Moon (Luna) had been beyond even the nearest star, we hardly had been able to see it even in a space telescope. Not to mention what had happened if a star had been between us and Luna where it is now!

037 71/16a: “And made the moon a lamp in their (the heavens’) midst - - -.” The moon is not in the midst of the 7 heavens (= somewhere among the stars or actually above them, as the stars are fastened to the lowest heaven) of Muhammad. Any even baby god had known, Muhammad not. Who made the Quran?

038 71/16b: "- - - the Sun as a (Glorious) Lamp - - -". The sun looks glorious only because it is close to us, astronomically speaking. As stars go, it really is not very glorious.

039 71/17a: "- - - Allah has produced you - - -". See 11/7a above. Also not possible unless Allah exists and is a god.

040 71/17b: "- - - Allah has produced you from the earth - - -". Wrong. See 6/2b above. (Though perhaps it here is meant that you have grown because you have eaten food grown on the earth).

041 71/18a: "In the End He (Allah*) will return you to the (earth) - - -". See 11/7a above.

042 71/18b: "- - - and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)". Again this interesting claim, as neither Muhammad nor Allah ever was able to prove Allah’s power of resurrection - and also nothing else of any consequence. Whereas if the old books tell the truth on that point, Yahweh proved he had such power several times.

043 71/18c: "- - - and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)". Contradicted by the Bible, which tells that it will be Yahweh who resurrects you, not Allah.

044 71/18d: "- - - (- - - the Resurrection)". Here: The Day of Doom.

**045 71/19: “And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread) out.” The Quran describes the Earth flat - may be round like a disc, but flat. Wrong. (Similar description in 15/19, 20/53, 43/10, 79/30, 88/70). Actually it is nowhere directly said that the Earth is flat - it was such a matter-of-course that there was no reason for mentioning it. But everything the Earth is compared with in the Quran, is flat.

046 71/21a: "Noah - - -". A historical anomaly.

##047 71/21b: (YA5719-A): "Sinners always resent it as a reproach, that righteous men (!) should speak to them in their own good". Like Muslims resenting being told for their own good about the mistakes in the Quran?

048 71/21-28: This is not from the Bible. As it also is not from any god (no god ever was involved in a book of a quality like the Quran), from where did Muhammad get it? (The only alternatives are: Dark forces, a sickness (TLE - Temporal Lobe Epilepsy - like modern medical science suspects?), or a cold brain (Muhammad?).)

049 71/22: "- - - a tremendous plot". Not mentioned in the Bible - from where did Muhammad get this information? (Muslims like to claim "from Allah", but no god was involved in a book of a quality like the Quran).

050 71/23a: "And they (claimed opponents of Noah*) have said - - -: 'Abandon not - - -'" For one thing: Note the close parallel to Muhammad's experience in 621 - 622 AD when this surah was published - Noah like all other prophets with the partly exception of Jesus, was mad to look like a parallel to Muhammad - "it showed" that Muhammad's problems were normal for real prophets, and indicated thus that Muhammad was a real prophet. Just read the Quran and you will see how often and how obvious this technique was used. For another thing: This is one more historical anomaly.

051 71/23b: "Wadd - - - Suwa' - - - Yaghuth - - - Ya'uq - - -Nasr - - -". 5 gods which were cherished in Arabia at the time of Muhammad. But Muhammad claimed these gods were cherished by Noah's people somewhere in southern Mesopotamia (now southern Iraq) 2500 years earlier. What were the chances those people had the same gods as In Arabia some 80 - 100 generations later? Muslims of course say these gods were imported from Mesopotamia and were are-old - but there exist no documentation for this at all; just one more of Islam's many not proved claims. Worse: Science believes they were imported from Syria, so they in case must have made a long detour + that in the old times when there were no books to make ideas permanent, gods slowly changed over the generations.

052 71/24a: "- - - the wrongdoers - - -". One of Muhammad's many negative, distaste or stronger inducing names for non-Muslims.

053 71/24b: "- - - Wrongdoers - - -". Beware that when the Quran uses words like this, it is in accordance with its own partly immoral moral code.

054 71/25a: "- - - sins - - -".

055 71/25b: "- - - the Fire (of Punishment) - - -". Hell.

056 71/25c: "- - - in lieu of Allah - - -". This sentence is invalid unless Allah exists and is a god.

057 71/26a: "- - - Noah - - -". A historical anomaly.

058 71/26b: Noah prayed: "Leave not of the Unbelievers a single one on earth". Here is something wrong, for according to the Quran one of his sons were non-Muslim (in the Quran Noah is a good Muslim), and Noah prayed for his salvation from the water - in vain though. These two prayers contradict each other. (This part of the story is not from the Bible, and is not in accordance with the Bible - there all his 3 sons entered the Ark and were safe).

059 71/26c: "- - - Unbelievers - - -".One of Muhammad's many negative, distaste or stronger inducing names for non-Muslims.

060 71/27: "- - - Thy (Allah's*) devotees - - -". According to the Quran, Noah was a good Muslim. Contradicted by the Bible: According to the Bible his god was Yahweh. Also see 67/9c above - a strong one. But of course it is ok for Islam to prove - prove - the Bible wrong and the Quran right. But as we say: Prove, not just loose claims and as loose and invalid words like the Quran always use instead of proofs.

061 71/28a: "(Allah*). Forgive - - -". See 71/7a above.

062 71/28b: "(Allah*). Forgive me (Noah*), my parents, all who enter my house in Faith, and (all) believing men and believing women - - -". These represented the ones Noah took on board the ark - Allah saved all believers according to the Quran. In the Bible only Noah, his wife, his (3) sons and their wives = 8 persons were on board the ark (Gen.6/18 and Gen.7/13). From where did Muhammad get this new information, as no god was involved in the making or delivery of a book of a quality like the Quran?

063 71/28c: "- - - Faith - - -". Islam - see 71/27 just above.

064 71/28d: According to Muhammad and the Quran, Noah prayed: "- - - to the Wrongdoers grant Thou (claimed to be Allah*)no increase but in perdition". This is claimed to be in a message from Allah. Compare this to NY - f.x. "the lost coin" (Luke 15/8-10), "the lost sheep" (Matt.18/12-14), "the lost son" (Luke 15/11-31), "the 11. hour" (Matt. 20/8/13) - and you have one more 100% for that Yahweh and Allah were not the same god, and Jesus and Muhammad not in the same line of the moral rules.

065 71/28e: "- - - the wrongdoers - - -". One of Muhammad's many negative, distaste or stronger inducing names for non-Muslims.

066 71/28f: "- - - Wrongdoers - - -". Beware that when the Quran uses words like this, it is in accordance with its own partly immoral moral code.
